China is the biggest producer of UV disinfection lamps worldwide. Because the emission intensity of UV lamps would gradually decay during their lifetime, UV sensors must be used simultaneously to monitor the UV radiation dose and ensure that the disinfection process is safe and effective.

      As an example of drinking water, based the report published by WHO, currently there are ~1 billion people in the world who have limited access to clean drinking water, and there are ~2 million people per year who are dead of diarrhea related diseases for drinking contaminated water. UV sterilization has the advantages of colorless, tasteless, and no chemical left. It is already a trend to replace traditional chlorine or bleaching powder sterilization method by UV sterilization technology in drinking water treatment field.
